What God placed on my heart; and Why

Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in th esecret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breath out cruelty.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say, on the Lord.

WOW, this is so powerful to me and God has spoken so loudly in a time when I needed just these words. How do I know it is GOD speaking to me? Because it is his word, it was where I was directed to read, and it feels as if this Psalm was written TO me, for me, and for this time in my life.
It reminds me how much I have to be joyful for. Although my enemies may lie and try to do cruel things to bring me down, the Lord has saved me, and for that I will praise him. He has lifted me up out of darkness that my enemies would keep me in, and set me high upon a rock. This Psalm EVEN clearly states that "when my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up". WOW! Now isn't that comforting to know that even though my mother has forsaken me, has abandoned me and become my enemy, the Lord is with me now, and is teaching me his ways, setting me on a STRAIGHT path, BECAUSE of my enemies. To me, that means that although my heart and mind will try to confuse me with the feelings I have on the whole situation, and at times I dont even know what way is up or down, GOD is leading me and setting my direction straight FOR me. So although I might feel lost and alone, the God of my salvation is there and is always in charge. He will never deliver me over to the enemies that wish to destroy me, and for that I am forever thankful. No more do I have to live in that torment.  I would have DIED unless I had believed to see the GOODNESS of the Lord! And my favorite verse, you can even see that I put it in my new header for my blog, is the last in this psalm. "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage; and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord"

I will wait. Although I'm once again struggling with the feelings over my mother and that situation, I KNOW what God has done, and he is still here, still in control, and this time I know to just WAIT on him, have faith, and he WILL strengthen me through this trial! Praise God!
